Frequently asked questions

What should I expect after my Microblading or Ombre Appointment?

Your eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle.

Days 1-4: The pigment will appear very sharp and dark.. The color of the pigment will soften gradually. Your brows may swell and appear larger also.

Days 5-7: Scab will start to form, area will look darker and wider than original work done, this is normal. The best thing to do to take care of those healing brows is to leave them alone. NEVER pick at the scabs, as this will prematurely pull the pigment out of the tattoo, leaving bald spots.  So don’t touch them, and those scabs will naturally fall off about a week and a half after treatment.

Days 8-12: Your brows may look as though the pigment has completely faded – do not panic – take a deep breath and trust the process.

Days 14 -28: Your brows may still look a little patchy or uneven, but the pigment will start to “reappear” as the pigment settles and the healing continues.

How long does it take?

EyeBrows

The procedure takes roughly about 2 hours, sometime more sometimes less. This depends on the style.

EyeLashes

It takes 2 – 2.30 hours to achieve a quality full set. Eye lash infills can take 60 – 75 mins depending on the amount of lashes and type of lashes that need to be replaced. Eyelash extensions are individually applied one by one to each natural lash and come in different lengths and thicknesses. They will make lashes longer and fuller and enhance the eyes.

What is a Powder/Ombre Brow?

An ombre powder brow technique is a form of permanent makeup that gives a similar effect to wearing powder or pencil on your brows.  The procedure is performed using a micro-pigmentation machine. The results tend to last longer than microblading as the pigment is inserted deeper than the manual method of microblading. Results do vary based on lifestyle, skin type, health, preferences, etc., but a single ombré powder brows session, using high-quality pigments, can last on average 2-3 years.

GREAT FOR ALL SKIN TYPES: Ombré powder brows are great for any skin type, unlike microblading, which is not suitable for those with oily skin.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of permanent makeup. Pigment is implanted under the surface of the skin with a manual handheld tool  to create very realistic hair-like strokes to fill in your brows and give the illusion of naturally fuller eyebrows.

  • Good only for dry or normal and tight skin types
  • Not good for cover ups or correction
  • Last 1 year
  • Can leave scarring

Am I a good candidate for ombre brows/microblading?

Even though these treatments are great for most people, there are however, a few people that:

Permanent makeup is NOT recommended for:

  • Those under the age of 18 years
  • Blood thinners
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Diabetic
  • Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • A Pacemaker or major heart problems
  • Had an Organ transplant
  • Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, eczema etc.)
  • Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
  • Used Accutane or steroids in the past year.
  • Hemophiliacs
  • Tendency to keloids

How should I prepare for a Microblading or Ombre Eyebrows Appointment?

Please read carefully:

  • Do NOT DRINK ALCOHOL or CAFFEINE  before the procedure (at least 24hrs for alcohol)
  • Do NOT  TAKE any blood thinners such a Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure.
  • Avoid exercising the day of procedure as this will open up the pores.
  • Please note that you will be more sensitive to pain during your menstrual cycle.
  • No waxing, threading or tinting 3 days before
  • The following treatments should be avoided within four weeks of the procedure:
    • Botox or other fillers
    • Chemical Peels
    • Laser treatments

What is your sterilization/sanitization process?

  • All needles and hand tools are single-use, come in a sterilized package, and disposed of after each client.
  • Implements such as gauze, cotton swabs, etc. are single-use and disposed of after each client.
  • Gloves and mask are worn at all times during the procedure and disposed of after each client.
  • All stations are thoroughly disinfected after each client

What are the aftercare protocols for Microblading and Ombre?

It is essential that you follow these instructions after your session:

Day 1 (Day of treatment): Please leave them as they are do not touch.

Day 2 – until  finish peeling: When you wake up, gently wipe the area with a small amount of warm water on a cotton pad. Be extra careful not to rub the brows hard, tug or scrub the brows. Apply oinament cream i supplied. Repeat the process morning and evening.

The following must be avoided during all 14 days post-microblading and post-ombre procedure:

  • No shower stream over brows. Wash face CAREFULLY with a washcloth or cleansing wipes, avoid brow area.
  • Sweating
  • Exercising
  • Practicing sports
  • Swimming
  • Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
  • Sun tanning or salon tanning
  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck
  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the brow area. You will cause scarring of the area or removal of the pigment if you pick or peel scabs prematurely.
  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
  • Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care with a cotton swab
  • Do not use any cleansers or facial products of any kind, over the brow area for at least 10 days.
  • Absolutely do not use any ointments, antibiotic creams or gels, or vitamin creams over the brow area –it will draw out the pigment.

If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact me immediately, to discuss further instructions.

Contact your GP or health care professional if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.

Getting them wet for prolonged periods of time may cause premature lifting of your scabs and increase the chance of infections and loss of pigment. If you get them wet, you must blot them dry immediately to avoid complications and undesired results such as smudgy blurred lines, scar tissue, and uneven pigment.

You also must avoid sweating in that area for at least 10 days. Salt draws out pigment and you will be left with undesirable results.

No makeup on the brows for at least two weeks but everywhere else is fine
